Helen-Marie Cooper AKA kiwiroustie1 Well, I live in New Zealand, across the great Pacific from most of you lovely people. I got into Carnivale purely by accident. I got home from the theatre one Friday night and I can never go to bed straight away when I have been on stage, I am way too pumped up! Therefore I switched the tv on and was drawn into this dark world - if I remember it was " After the Ball is Over" ( how apt!) and it was the scene where Apollonia tells Ben " You're the one" . That was pretty much near the end of the episode I think and for some reason I missed the next two episodes ( maybe didn't get back from the theatre in time) Anyway - I next came in on "Babylon" and I think that is one of the darkest episodes to come in on when you are a newbie! Still, I was intrigued to see what on earth John Hannah was doing in the middle of Texas so I kept watching...the rest is history! I was soon totally and inescapably drawn into this wonderful world, encaptured by the rich story telling, superb characterisations, beautifully played out scenes with amazing cinematography and soundtrack. It wasn't until season 1 was drawing to a close here that I found the site(s) and all the good people on board, ordered season 1 on DVD to catch up on what I missed and discovered that HBO cancelled the show- GRRRRRRR! I just couldn't believe the ONE good thing on TV in eons was not going to continue. I just decided I had to be involved. Great shows like this can NOT be allowed to fall by the wayside With the passion, intellect and determination that I have found amongst the fans, cast and writers of this show, I have real confidence this campaign will make some serious headway and I am REALLY looking forward to Carny Con to meet you all! I have written to the national press so far and have a letter published; I am finding new angles eash week to write to Chris Albrecht; I am about to go on a convertion mission to the UK to turn my entire family ( which is huge) into fans. If we get a season 2 announcement here I will be telling EVERYONE I know to watch it and will be loaning out season 1 to ensure they are all up to speed. Anything else I can do for the international campaign - I will do - am happy to accept suggestions. More than happy to be the NZ envoy!
