I live in the Kansas. My husband and I took an early retirement about 8 or 9 years ago to travel, but somehow life got in the way of the traveling part. He is a photographer and I am his assistant (interpreted as baggage carrier and paper pusher).

I think the reason Carnivale holds such appeal for me is that I am a story junkie. I don’t watch much TV, I much prefer a good book or a good movie. It’s not that I don’t think a good story can be done on TV, I just prefer knowing I have the control. I can always finish the book or watch the whole movie.

I have read Dan Knauf’s letter to the fans after the cancellation and I take solace from it. Some day, some how this story will be completed as DK meant it to be. And to second what a fan said on another board - "thanks to the cast and the crew and everyone involved with the show - it was a hell of a ride!"

I still wish we could form a Knauf Fan Club. His wit and humor are quirky and appealing to me. The man has a way with a story and a way with words. Another fan said "HBO and DK has shown a format much denser than film with which to tell stories. DK showed that there's stories out there that still need to be told; that we don’t have to be awash in a sea of rehashed 70's movies, mindless reality shows, Law and Orders and CSI’s. He showed that there's still hope for television."

I have lots of patience, we just saw Star Wars Ep.3 the other day. Finally, after 30 years, I found out why Darth Vadar turned to the Dark Side. And Harry Potter, in just a few years I will know the end of that saga.

My personal "post cancellation" plan is two-fold. One, since I’m basically a library person, I’m going to try to figure out a way to raise funds to purchase DVD’s to donate to libraries. Second, I’m going to have small groups of friends over for pot luck dinners and viewings of the S1 and S2 and DVDs.
